Our 3 year old program places a strong emphasis on making sure each child feels safe, secure and supported as they grow in confidence to explore and learn. Educators work closely with each child helping them to establish and maintain respectful, trusting relationships with other children and educators.
Children attending our 3 year old program are provided with four afternoon sessions per week (2.5 hours) – a total of 10 hours per week, with a maximum of 21 children in each session.
From 2025, this shall increase to 15 hours per week across two full-day sessions.
All sessions are staffed with a university-trained early childhood teacher and a Diploma trained co-educator.
Excursions/Incursions/Special Occasions
Based on the children’s interests and teacher planned experiences, various incursions and excursions are arranged each year.
All core incursions and excursions are provided by the preschool at no cost to families.
Recognising and celebrating special occasions such as Birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas, Chinese New year and Diwali not only help the children develop a strong sense of who they are but also provides an opportunity to explore the diversity of culture, heritage, background and tradition in our community and build respect for different ways of being and doing.
Eligibility for the 3 Year Old Program
To be eligible to be offered a place in the three year old program, your child must turn three years of age on or before 30 April in the year of attendance.
Children who turn three after the start of term one, and on or before 30 April (in the year of attendance), are unable to begin sessions until their third birthday.
Selection Criteria for the 3 Year Old Program
Eligible children (refer above) will be offered a place according to the Monash City Council selection criteria – see Allocations and Offers page for more information.
